Back in the day when the last Hulk movie was released and I just didn't like the direction they went with the creature, I decided to create my rendition to the creature that, of course, I never found the time to finish. I would probably go in a slightly different direction nowadays, but it's here anyway.
Update on 10.28.10. Improved symmetry and likeness (I think), some polishing here and there. I'm using Roma plastilina n#2. Just playing around with the post and lighting, as usual.
Here's a little collection of my doodles. Those characters were born in ZBrush, with no previous concept in mind. Later on, references were used to help me to define the personalities of some of them.
Inspired by Stan Winston (and the Brazilian artist Alex Oliver, who was modeling multiple characters for this challenge), I decided to also model a couple of them. My picks were: Pumpkinhead, Jurassic Park's T-Rex, Predator and a bust caricature of Stan Winston, based on Krueger's incredible painting. I could not finish the predator's bust on time though. On this hardcore modeling challenge I won three out of four chategories (Best WIP thread, Best Bust and Best model). Alex Oliver got the prize for Best Diorama. Brazilians united! :)
Back in 2007 I participated of a workshop at CGTalk. The intention was a group study about old people. This is the piece I came up with. About a month to conclude, on my spare time, starting from scratch. Maya, ZBrush, PS, Lightroom.
This is something I started for fun a couple of years ago and, as always, never finished it. I hope to get back to it one day since I love this couple!
I’m a professional Digital Artist, an amateur Photographer, an aspiring Sculptor and a brand new/proud father of our baby boy Mathias. You will find many of my digital artworks in this website, but for now I’ll take a break from them and dedicate my time to learn photography and sculpting. I believe that learning those disciplines will help me immensely to become a better artist. Another reason for the break is my family leave, coming really soon. So, I’ll be taking it easy for a few months, but will continue to post whatever is new in here. I hope you enjoy the new website!
